For Leaving Cert. Music there is a basic level of theory which you should understand. It's all explained in these notes.
You won't be asked a direct question on any of this but an undertanding of basic theory is needed in order to complete the course. For example, a knowledge of minor scales and keys is needed to write a minor melody!
